Volunteering is a great way to connect with nature and meet new people whilst also protecting the landscapes and communities of Eryri National Park.

In a world where our lives seem to get busier by the day, it’s important that we all take a little time to look after ourselves every now and then.

Volunteering offers many benefits for participants, being outdoors could do wonders to improve your physical and mental health whilst also nurturing new relationships with similar minded people who are passionate about protecting our landscapes, biodiversity and local communities.

Volunteering can also strengthen your connection to the land and learn more about the beauty, history and culture of the National Park, something people might easily take for granted at times.

Volunteers contributed over 1,400 hours directly to the National Park Authority’s various campaigns in 2022 through schemes such as the Caru Eryri partnership and our volunteer warden programs. The service that volunteers provide in Eryri is priceless. From litter picking on some of our busiest trails to providing visitors with vital information about the National Park or maintaining our heavily trodden footpaths, every hour volunteered goes a long way to protect what makes Eryri exceptional.

If you are interested in volunteering with the Authority this year, please follow our social media channels or visit our website.

Peter Rutherford, the Authority’s Access and Well-being Manager said:

“Whatever your interests and abilities are, there is always an event here for you to take part. This year we will be hosting numerous volunteering days and campaigns to protect the National Park for future generations. Volunteers would be working in some of the most beautiful parts of the country and would work alongside other experienced volunteers and National Park Authority staff”.
