It’s been a year to the day since we launched the hugely popular Eryri Ambassador scheme. A scheme which has enriched the local tourism industry’s knowledge and understanding of what makes Eryri exceptional.

This is a training scheme of a high standard which offers an unique accreditation to individuals or businesses – and intends to educate and share messaging to protect the things that make Eryri exceptional. The modules are made up of contributions from experts from across the region, from original works of art and literature to factual text.

Since the launch, the scheme has gone from strength to strength with over 600 earning the title of Eryri Ambassador.

To mark this special milestone, we’ve released a refresher module for our Ambassadors. This is for those who have reached the gold accreditation in 2021, and who wish to re-qualify as Gold Ambassadors for 2022. It will be a new course on the website entitled ‘Eryri 2021/22 gold refresher’.

Silver and Bronze Ambassadors will be able to follow more of the scheme’s modules to reach the next stage of accreditation in 2022.

Catrin Glyn, Yr Wyddfa’s Partnership Officer said:

“We are proud of working under the Ambassador Wales banner and it’s fantastic to see other Authorities such as Gwynedd, Conwy and Ceredigion Councils as well as the Brecon Beacons National Park coming on board to launch their own ambassador schemes next year.

The refresher module is an opportunity for ambassadors to receive the latest information about the work of the National Park Authority and to refine their knowledge of what’s going on. It ensures that the scheme continues to be interesting and relevant whilst also keeping up the high standard.”

With intentions of expanding and evolving the scheme, we are planning more new modules for 2022 on the Carneddau Partnership as well as a special module assisting accommodation businesses to reduce single-use plastic.

The Authority would like to thank all ambassadors who have given their time to assist in protecting the National Park’s Special Qualities. Their dedication is truly appreciated.
