The Engagement department is a part of the Authority’s Corporate Services. The department has many responsibilities relating to communications, policy, access, wellbeing and sustainable tourism.

Departmental responsibilities
  • Developing communications plans that promote and celebrate what makes Snowdonia so special
  • Researching, developing and producing Snowdonia National Park’s policies and statutory management plan
  • Receiving inquiries and engaging with the press and public
  • Managing and developing partnerships with various organisations and businesses
  • Exploring visitor management issues with the aim of promoting sustainable tourism within Snowdonia
  • Managing the National Park Authority’s visitor centres

Cynllun Eryri
Launching Cynllun Eryri in 2020 after years of engaging and consulting with partners and the public.
Parking and Transport
Working with other departments within the Authority to assess and improve the National Park's parking and transport infrastructure.
70th Anniversary celebrations
Organising a host of activities, such as a trip from the north of the Park to the south to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Snowdonia being designated a National Park.
Yr Wyddfa Partnership
Establishing the Yr Wyddfa Partnership to create the Yr Wyddfa Plan, which details strategies to protect Snowdonia's most popular mountain.
Ambassador Scheme
Developing the Eryri ambassadors accreditation scheme. Over 600 businesses and individuals are now Gold, Silver or Bronze Ambassadors.
Volunteers
Providing and managing volunteering opportunities across the whole of the National Park.
